Pete Daskalos, Founder
Pete Daskalos was born in a small village in Greece in 1935. Through his tremendous success, Pete has embodied the very ideals of the American Dream. He first came to the United States at age 16. After enlisting in the Army, Pete began his entrepreneurial career. He opened several businesses in the Albuquerque area. In 1970 he started investing in real estate and became a general contractor.
Pete began his real estate development career with one property. That property was Daskalos Center, where Daskalos Development’s office is still located today. Working with Peggy, one of his daughters, and his son, Jason, Pete expanded the company to include 16 properties. Pete’s retail centers have received numerous professional awards, including awards of merit and excellence from National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Pete has developed commercial, industrial and residential developments. When not working, Pete spends his summers in Greece with Soula, his wife of almost 60 years, and his 9 loving grandchildren.

Mike Hontas, Project Manager
Mike Hontas, raised in Albuquerque from age 10, started his construction education as a teenager by helping remodel the turn-of-the-century family house located in the Huning Highlands neighborhood near downtown Albuquerque. He has worked as a construction supervisor and/or manager since 1982. Projects include tenant improvements, mid-rise and high-rise buildings, medical facilities, a ship loading facility in Portland, and high end residential projects in Arizona, California and New Mexico. When not working, he loves to travel.
